I dunno what it is….. I’m born in 1979 but when La Bamba the movie came out in 1985, my life changed. And it never stopped for me, because as I got older and listened to more oldies, I keep finding out that my heroes all died. There’s a big part of these guys in me, along with Ricky Nelson. Just something about planes I guess; I’ve had crash nightmares every month since the mid-eighties. Maybe it’s a sign. …. As emcee of the Winter Dance Party of ‘59 in Clear lake I appreciate tributes such as yours. Four young talented people were snuffed out way too early in life. The pilot, Roger Peterson was a neighbor; the performers had become new friends in about 3 minutes! They were going to put together SPRING Dance Party and add a day for enjoying Clear Lake and a cookout at our place. Nearly 50 years later, it still hurts.
